Civil Servants Allowances
Below are the allowances that Kenyan civil servants are entitled to:-
- Commuter Allowance: This allowance covers transport expenses to and from work. Employees in Job Groups B1 to C1 receive a minimum Sh3,000 monthly commuter stipend, while Group C2 employees receive a minimum Sh4,000.
- Housing Allowance: This allowance covers the employee’s housing on the company’s property or accommodations outside the workplace. The stipend varies according to the types of jobs.
- Transfer Allowance: Employees who were transferred are eligible for a stipend to assist with moving in and settling down.
- Risk Allowance: This allowance is for workers who are exposed to risky circumstances and dangers at work.
- Hardship Allowance: Civil servants in distance places like rural and remote locations are eligible for the hardship allowance.
