The UPDF will conduct a general recruitment exercise across all districts. This year, the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) is set to recruit about 9,627 regular forces into infantry forces.

General Requirements for Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces Recruitment
Eligible candidates are to meet the following requirements:
- Citizenship. MUST be a citizen of Uganda in possession of an original National Identity Card.
- Medical. Must be fit and ready to undergo medical and body fitness tests.
- Age. MUST be adult male or female between 18 – 22 years.
- Education Standard. Formal education strictly of S.4 (UCE) who finished in the year 2020 – 2023 and MUST have passed English and Mathematics.
- Application Letters duly signed by LCI, LCII & LCIII Chairpersons, GISO or DISO and RDC are a MUST.
- Aspirants MUST be residents of the area, disciplined and with no criminal record.
