  1. The Senior Journalist is responsible for BBC’s Igbo output, including reporting, editorial control, production, selection and compilation of material, leading teams as well as planning and implementing effective use of resources.
  2. You are responsible for sourcing interesting news items that will interest your target audience, attracting and engaging them to our platforms via websites and social media.
  3. You will be required to write original content for website stories and social media output including scripting, editing, outputting, filming, and presenting content across a range of BBC outputs.
  4. The senior journalist may be required to undertake on-air reporting, including the production and presentation of live or recorded programs on TV, radio, and online.
  5. The senior Journalist will also be responsible for allocating work to the team, inspecting their progress; and ensuring the professional contribution of staff.

  1. You will actively contribute to the team creating content for the Focus on Africa Podcast and TV.
  2. Your primary responsibility involves brainstorming original and impactful story ideas.
